For many, a smartphone, is a big step into the unknown, and
whilst
the communication experience it offers is eagerly anticipated,
we maintain that it will
only take a bit of confusion, or a complex interface to put the
user right off.
Easily becoming confused using image-rich
apps or apps with strongly patterned or image based screen backgrounds,
we design apps with older people and people with a visual
impairment in mind.
We use icons that would enable the user with limited
reading ability to see what the page is about.
Our app development service keeps that in mind and we produce
apps with plain screens and various coloured background/text
combinations as needed. White background with black or dark blue
text offers the most 'comforting' experience for the greatest
number of users in this target group.
W
e keep text to a minimum and rely upon audio and video feeds
with
a soundtrack to provide the information users may not be able to
see clearly.
If you don't have the information you wish to convey in an
audio format, we can easily, quickly and economically record
it in our studio and upload it to our podcast server for the
app to then download and play. The quantity and duration
of the audio or video uploads won't affect the app as
the files will be streamed direct, rather than
downloaded.
If you take advantage of our Click & Listen or
Click or Scan services, we'll include the audio
on the app without additional cost.
Our management service means updates can easily and quickly be
incorporated and any images you already
have that pertain to the story can be
cropped and re-formatted for use in the app.
The management service includes weekly,
fortnightly or monthly updates and up to
2 pushes per week to advise people who
have the app that there is news or
upcoming changes or amendments to
the app. We will take care of that on
your instruction as part of the service.
People who have difficulty reading can listen to our apps.
