About us, and what else we do
Audio; streaming, podcasting,
talking apps, talking paper,
QR:AudioCodes, CDs, cassettes, memory sticks, and more...
Our audio team has in excess of 20 years experience of producing recordings
for visually impaired people, so we quickly spot mistakes and
inconsistencies in the text and never make mention of page
references. We produce CDs, cassette and memory stick versions,
as well podcasts for the internet. (See below for phone apps).
The senior producer has experience of presenting and producing
radio programmes, promos and reading the news. He has regularly voiced for
Marks
& Spencer, Barclays Bank, BP, Age UK, Bupa and many others
including PCTs charities and various local government organisations.
He devised and produced the first ever audio breast
self-examination guide
for visually impaired women worried about breast cancer.
Large Print and 'Talking Paper'
The re-creation of all kinds of publications and documents in
large print - fully featured with images, colours and fonts carefully
adjusted to take visual impairment into account, whilst retaining the
design essence of the originals is an in-house service
we're justifiably proud of. You can find our work in many places as in
addition to personal copies in this alternative format, we also
provide .PDF copies for websites. We design packaging for
our clients' audio, and originate newsletters and leaflets as
required. We've also developed four new services to enable
people who have difficulty reading to listen to the audio. To find out how we can make your .PDFs talk, click on
the Click & Listen button, right.
Affordable phone apps
We design apps for people who have difficulty reading, and with
older people and
those with a visual
impairment in mind. They can easily become confused using image-rich
apps or apps with strongly patterned or image based screen backgrounds.
We do however use icons to enable the user with limited
reading ability to see what the page is about. Audio is used
extensively.
We produce the audio ourselves and with limited text and an
image if desired, we can tell the user everything you want them
to know.
Braille
We produce Braille in-house, anything from a self adhesive
Braille label to a complex insurance document. Our Braille
technician has considerable skill and expertise and writes
fluent additional narrative that is sometimes required to enable
the Braille reader to make sense of graphs, charts and so on.
No prior knowledge of Braille is required, we'll do everything
for you.
